Ryanair flights to Murcia

How did I miss the announcement that Ryanair have stopped all their winter flights to Murcia apart from those leaving Stansted and Dublin??????? That must leave a big gap in the market as the popularity of these flights from Glasgow is huge all year round. I hope Easyjet or someone takes over what must be a very profitable route. Help!!!! How do I now get to my flat in San Javier!!!!

Prestwick to Stansted (3 flights a day)

Think I'll maybe just give Easy jet my business by flying to Alicante and hiring a car rather than paying Ryanair for four flights ( Prestwick/Stansted/Murcia) and turning a 3 hour flight into an 8 hour one.
  • Easyjet pulled out of the East Midlands to Murcia route last year, much missed as flying into Alicante is the only other viable option now

Ive missed that as well. Blast. Murcia really handy as only 15 mins away
Cant understand how. It was always a busy flight. Was handy if only going over for couple days to check house and air it. Blast.

  • Ryanair is in dispute with Murcia San Javier airport over passenger charges & have cancelled all UK to Murcia flights, except for those from Stansted (& also from Dublin). It's not clear if it is just for the winter schedule or if it will continue throughout 2011.

Ryanair are bonkers if they think I'll use them to fly to Alicante. Prestwick to Murcia was the only reason I used them. If I have a choice of carriers to Alicante then it will not be Ryanair. Glasgow to Alicante with an other carrier will be my choice.

Fine, if you are happy to pay more to get to your destination.;)

How do you know they will be paying more? Ryanair do not have the monopoly on cheap fares.;) And then of course some of us like to take luggage and not be treated like SLC, BA being my airline of choice.
I said this years ago that anyone who bought a property abroad at some area not supported by a major airport because RA flew there would have to take into account that RA could and would probably pull out of the route at the drop of a hat.
Anyway Alicante is near enough, we fly there to get to Las Balconies, about an hours drive.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
