Parcel2go - damaged item not eligible for compensation

Hi all,
I sold a pair of MG Headlights for £175 to someone in Sweden using parcel2go. Unfortunately, when the buyer received them they were smashed to pieces! They were more than securely packaged (having been sent to me a few months before from Germany, I re-used the packaging). The buyer has been very good about it and has sent full photos of the damage and as such I have issued him a full refund.
When I placed the order with parcel2go I also purchased enhanced compensation to cover the headlights for £175. The total postage cost £30! I was just about to fill in a claim form for total loss when I checked through parcel2go's list of prohibited items (ok, perhaps I should have done this before, I just assumed that headlights would be ok - lesson learned). Anyway, whilst they are not excluded they are in the 'No Compensation' list - along with just about everything else you would ever need to send.
I am going to go ahead and make a claim anyway and see if I can manage to get some sort of compensation. For those in the know, is there anything I can use to back up my argument, i.e some sort of legal jargon I can quote to them? I find this utterly ridiculous.
Thanks in advance.
