getting rid of asbestos roofing

My garage roof is half made from corrugated plastic and half made from corrugated asbestos roofing.My wfe doesnt want me to touch but i have been told that its perfectly safe to handle provided I dont saw it and create dust .I could wear a face mask and gloves so should be ok i would have thought.The asbestos apparently only adds up to 8% and its bonded with cement.
Anyway next thing is disposal. Wrapping it in plastic and finding a suitable dump who will take it?

And then you will have to put it into bags. That are completely sealed.

Double wrap it, phone your local council they will advise you were to take it.

Someone told me that clear plastic sheeting one busy from builders centres would do

Wear an old boiler suit and clothing, once you have everything bagged up, dispose of the clothing into a bag and dump it along with the asbestos as it will also be classed as contaminated.
