Hello,
Got an unsolicited email from a company called Motoring First, and they offer to insure your driving licence, ie. they will represent you if you get caught speeding or in a bus lane etc.
I just wondered if anyone had heard of them as it seems to good to be true and there a few things on their website that have made me suspicious or maybe I've just become cynical in my old age!

Haven't heard of them in particular but these kind of policies do exist and have done for a while. They are often bought by companies for management or key staff who they need to keep mobile. Often they cover alternative transport costs and maybe some legal defence costs.
To be honest, it is usualy much better just to obey the law. By their nature, the people who buy the policies know they are more likley to need to claim on them, so the price is high for what you get.0 -
Thank you that's interesting, i didnt know such things exisited. I'm a sales rep who goes all over the country, and I was done for speeding some time ago on a road that the council had covered the speed signs (38mph in a 30) and i tried to dispute it but i didnt have the money to properly contest it. The price is £29.99 so it's not exactly expensive so I must admit i am tempted....0
