I have a just past the chin bob, which has taken me ages to grow from a really short style. I love it, i love my 'bump its' even more. I style my hair differently depending on wether it's been washed that day or not. If it's freshley washed i have it down with my side fringe twisted and pinned back or just left down. If it's second day, i use a bump it and pin it back into a pony tail. After 10 years with a short crop i love the versatility.
Colour is another story, i spent my 20's in every colour imaginable, blonde through to deep red, and now i'm 33 i want my natural colour (deep brown) it is proving rather hard to achieve as quite a lot of grey has appeared:eek:
Great thread glowgirl!!

Love the thread gg!
I've gone full circle with my hair now! In my early 20's I had it cut from long to short and have had it in a variety of short styles ( some good some not so), for the last 30 years . A couple of years ago I decided to grow it long again. I had a couple of abortive attempts where I gave up and had it cut again at that dreadful in-between stage. Last year I perservered and now have it just below shoulder length once more!
My hair is thick straight and heavy and I have it in long layers, with a longer sideswept fringe. I have the roots done every 3-4 weeks and it is close to my natural dark brown.
Because of the messing round with roots, I don't bother with any lowlights etc. Just concentrate on keeping the hair healthy and shiny, especially now it's long. I don't get the permanent colour taken through the length as I want to avoid too much of a build-up of dark colour. As it is, the grey takes up the colour slightly differently and the effect is still subtly tonal as opposed to 'block'. Now it's long, if the colour overal needs refreshing eg after a holiday in the sun, I'll have the roots done as usual and a semi-permanent over the length.
I like it to be styled naturally, don't like it straightened. I tong loose curls in the ends and then get my fingers in to loosen it up a bit. A professional blow-dry is a must for occasions to get that mega-shine!0 -

I bought some Bump-Its a few weeks back- still haven't quite worked out how to use them! I'm useless with hair accessories- I bought a few bandos at the same time thinking they'd look cute and I have no idea how to wear them! I think my head must be abnormally small or something.
My hair is fairly long, about three inches below my collar bone with a few layers through it. I want it longer though
No fringe, just a side parting. I straighten it most days- it's not straight, it's not curly, it's not even wavy, it just sticks up wherever it feels like it so I have to straighten it or tie it back to keep it looking neat!
I'm a bit boring with colour. I hate going to the hairdressers and can't afford to get it coloured anyway, so I dye it purple at home. It comes out very dark brown with purpley-tints but is a bit more interesting than plain brown.
I used to be a lot more adventurous- I've had super short bobs, extreme a-lines, a fashion mullet, and a V-fringe and a-line fringe. But I just can't be bothered anymore, and I've missed long hair. It's a lot easier being able to simply tie it back, and I save a lot on hair appointments :cool:0 -
Enjoyed reading others hairdo's, fab thread.
I'm 36 and have had varying colours, perms  and lengths.
I have a long face shape and very dark reddish brown straight hair but quite thick and overall my best style is a just below chin bob with a sweeping fringe, it widens my face and shortens my forehead and i find it the easiest style due to my hair type...i can literally get up, and brush it and its fine.
I am noticing the odd grey recently of which i am plucking, not sure whether i'm brave enough to embrace my grey. But i used to dye my hair red myself for ages and i found it really tedious doing it every couple of weeks, even though it looked good after.
I do actually love short hair like frankies out of the saturdays but for one short i just cannot do at all and its a high maintenance style and the flicking would drive me mad
but it looks great on her and nice to look at. 0 -
Curly curly curly, unless I am feeling particularly energetic and straighten it... I've been curly all my life and spent the first 30yrs straightening it , before straighteners I used an iron ... and I have the scars to prove it. I stopped straightening all the time and just let it do its thing but had hilights for years and years... then I decided enough was enough and let the grey come in naturally and only straighten when I feel like it.. its short and great for swimming and showering I just wash and go its very liberating after years of bowing down to my curls...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I have cropped hair but with some slightly longer layers around my face. I love it. It's easy to look after apart from the fact that it has to be trimmed so often. It also makes my eyes look bigger and everyone says it makes me look younger.
I think I am going to have a variation of this style for the rest of my life! My hair is incredibly fine & lifeless and looks horrible any longer. I think I have tried every style there is. I would love to experiment with colour a bit, but haven't taken the plunge. My hair grows soooooo quickly (hairdressers are always stunned) that I don't want to waste money on something that will grow out super fast.0 -
Until I was in my early twenties I had very short hair but on reflection, it didn't suit me as I have a rather square face. For years I wondered why it would never sit flat until I started to grow it and realised it was wavy.
It is now shoulder length and although I have to take more care of it than when it was short, I much prefer it.4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0
