I went online and purchased a highchair, my order went through and i paid via credit card. i recieved an email back saying the order and payment had been accepted and an order number given. I went online to track my order delivery and it read they were unable to fulfil the order and to contact them. i contacted them via phone and they informed me that this was due to a price error on there part and there profit margin would be affected. where do i stand? do they have to sell it to me for the orginal price when i placed the order?

Ordering online is different from shops. Legally, you have offered payment @ x price for x item and they have declined. They are allowed to do so even after sending confirmation email as these emails are generally sent automatically and no one actually checks your order until dispatch - which is when the contract is formed.
In a shop, basically as soon as money/goods have exchanged hands, they cant then ask you to pay more. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
