When i saw this i thought 'what a cool idea' and it sounds awesome that you want to try so hard. I just cant get past the fact that your trying to collect almost the weight of a boeing 737 in (specifically) aluminium cans. Think if you went round looking for change on the floor would be more productive and quicker than trying to collect 2 million cans. Sorry to be pessimistic (not normally) and i hope you can show everyone 20 tonnes of cans turning into 13k! Good luck!?!0

Buddys mum, it's the ones that are not magnetic, coke, and redbull branded drinks I know are aluminium and pepsi are steel.
Spadoosh, it is a lot no doubt, but it is something regualrly discarded and available in bulk. I just arrived at the roller disco at the O2 where they have allowed me to leave a bin which has a few cans in it. Have to sort through them first. If I was collecting 100 cans that wouldn't be a challenge now would it. I know that there are this many cans discarded, I just have to collect them.Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
I hope you manage your target, and then keep going on afterwards. Its a great idea, and i feel that its better to try and make money being resorceful than sitting around being miserable that you dont have any money.
Car Batteries i think are worth quite a bit, maybe worth looking into that.0 -
Thanks buddys mum I'm now up to 80 cans, just 1,999,920 to go! I'm being realistic about all this and not giving up my job or anything like that. Collecting the cans is just a little additional thing that I feel I can be doing that won't interfere too much with anything else I do. I also anticipate it taking some time to do, not going to complete the challenge by Christmas, but every little I get will decrease overall interest and eventually I will be debt free.Debt £5600 all 0%0

Sorry just noticed at the end of Spadoosh's post, that you observed the unlikelihood of making 13k from the cans. I actually was thinking more along the lines of 10k. I anticipate it will take some time to collect that number of cans and in the short term I will still be making minimum payments on the debt, more if possible. It's not that I am in anyway upset or offended by this honest reality check, just demonstrating that this is something I have considered. I believe that I am more likely to find 2 million aluminium cans discarded than 1 million pennies! (although I would happily accept the latter).Debt £5600 all 0%0

90 cans thus far; 1,999,910 to go! Although at this rate I will be long dead before I reach my target, I am at least accelerating the collections.Debt £5600 all 0%0

Good luck, im starting to save cans and then any money made will go towards paying vets fees for my dog. It all helps0

106 cans collected. Had thought I would go collect a load more from one of the licensed premises I sometimes work but something came up last night. I need to get more organised about this.Debt £5600 all 0%0
