My girlfiend recently had a tree cut down and it had supposedly been treated to stop it coming back but after a few weeks it wa covered in new shoots, a spraying with a strong solution of Jeyes fluid killed it off.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..

Apparently a copper nail hammered into the trunk does the trick at killing most trees/bushes.0
