Egg poor rating

Hello I would like some advice please.

After getting into very serious debt, I am now debt free but my credit has taken longer to recovering.

Still a problem is my details as reported by Egg. In June 2004, I told them I could not pay my monthly payment as I was on the verge of bankcruptcy. I followed their advice and the account stay on hold until February 2005 when i was able to pay the FULL outstanding balance of £3900, however even though i was following their instructions they were reporting to Experian that I was missing payments and getting further behind.

Since then Egg had refunded myself for over charging and errors upto a value of £560 which i got back in late 2008.

However My credit file for Egg is bad. And although I paid in full in Feb 2005 they kept my account open according to my experian report til June 2005 with a zero balance, so now the account remains on file til June 2011 (six years after they said the account is closed and it shows a row of months where I was 6 months behind in payments)

This is now my only blip on my credit file and it must be adversely affecting my credit scores when I seek credit.

As the account was hold should they still be able to consider that missed payments? should they review my problems with paying my account as since they have refunded me a large sum of £560? I know accounts can stay on for 6 years, but can the previous 12 months payments also remain on as well? can i go to the FSA or the FOS if egg refuse.

Experian have contacted Egg but Egg stand by their figures, and experian have suggested I contact Egg myself.

any idea would be so appreciated.

You were unable to make the payments. While the agreed a concession to allow you to do this, it is still a factual record that these payments weren't made when contractually due.

    Not really. Two different issues.
can i go to the FSA or the FOS if egg refuse.
Not sure why you would want to go to the FSA. If you have exhausted Egg's complaints procedures, you can go to the FOS. But what are you hoping to achieve? Payments were due. You couldn't afford them. To assist you Egg said they'd let you pay late and have makred the credit file with the facts.

Patience is probably your best route. You're nearly there.

Unless they actually had stated to you that they wouldn't notify CRA's of the failure to pay in refference to your account being put on hold?

After having overspent and gotten yourself into serious trouble before, why are you seeking credit yet again?

Best to live within ones means, rather than off other people's money, particulary in your circumstances.
