Curious as to what probs there are supposed to be with Albany Assist? They were excellent with me when someone wrote my car off. New semi-auto golf to my work, next day. Signed the CDW, drove car for a week, handed it back and got behind the wheel on my new one. Totally painless, very friendly.

Maybe getting confused with Drive Assist who perform a similar service. They were alleged to deliver the hire car, hurry the customer through the sign-off and checking process without a proper check being performed, then stinging them for "repairs" for scuffs or scratches which then didn't actually get fixed so that they could pull the same trick next time.

I didn't have a problem with them per se. Their initial call sounded ok, but if you google 'Albany Assist' their overall rep is pretty bad.

TBH, I just wanted to avoid a credit-hire type agreement. I didn't want my NCB to be under scrutiny & I didn't want to have to pay any excess.

It's in Albany Assist's interest to drag out the claim until the end of time so I figured that was a good enough reason not to go with them.

Fair enough though if you've received a good service.
