hi hope this is in the right place,

booked a holiday and paid in full with insurance (i paid on my debit card )to lake district through cottages4you for 5 adults 2kids 5 bedroom premises (me/ wife kids /mother father inlaw and wifes nan)
monday night had to take nan up hospital because she had hurt knee (torn mussle and tissue damage shes 83) so now we cant go as she would be left on her own house bound and wife and father inlaw wont allow this as expected.
phoned cottages4you and there telling me because its my nan inlaw i might not be able to claim? she was a member of the group and cant go and due to her injury we cant leave her on her own, they even asked me if i can pay sombody to come and look after her:mad:
they told me to fill in a claim form and i might get my money back if its found to be a exceptable reason think there giong to try and not pay any ideas please hol 4-11th sep

Could she go in a wheelchair?
(A bin bag is great for getting oldies into the car. The two layers of the bag will move against each other making it easy to twist her round).

Does the entire party have to stay behind?
A lot of insurance companies would not pay for the entire party to stay behind and this does seem unnecessary.

Do you have a policy you can look at to check what it says?

My sympathies. It would be cruel to leave her behind.

Which travel insurance company? What does it say in the policy?

As I have found to my cost cheapest is not always best.

    Bad luck, I sympathise.
Now is when you will find out how good your insurance company is.

Good luck, hope it works out ok.

If you can state the company we might be able to find something.

have checked policy online it states illness as a reason provided medical confirmation stating unfit to travel is supplied with claim.
all i have had off cottages 4 you is a booking confirmation and accomadation details which came last week. the insurance cost £27.00 which was recommended by cottages 4 you, dont know who it is with have not recieved any insurance documents.

cottages 4 you have told me they will email me a claim form still waiting. starting to panic now they dont seem to be playing ball.

have told them willing to move the dates to christmas time as we still want a week away.

Does the policy cover all members of the party (ie. can they all cancel if one is taken ill?).
