Hi,
Just wanted to canvas opinion - how much would you say is reasonable as a gift (Cash or vouchers - I haven't decided yet) to give to a wedding of a cousin.
We are going to the day and evening wedding but rarely see them - maybe once a year at a family 'do'...
Thanks for any help

I've read as much as your place (or places if you are a couple) costs, plus a small gift.
Do you have any idea the food (& drink if supplied) cost?0 -
If we were invited to the whole day, then we'd give £50.
We were invited to my cousins wedding a couple of years ago but we couldn't make it because it was too far away and we couldn't afford to take time off work/kids out of school, but we sent £50 to them anyway.
If it was a cousin and we were only asked to the evening, we'd give them £20.
I'd be made up with even a fiver or tenner tho when we get married!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Depends on how close you are. If it was my cousin who I grew up with and who is practically the little brother I never had, I'd give him about £30 (I'd like to give more but based on my current financial situation I'm not sure that'd be possible, although hopefully that'd have improved by the time he gets married!). For a cousin I didn't see very often, it'd probably be more like £20."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

£70 if me and my OH went - £35 each to cover the cost of our food.
If I couldn't afford that I'd probably try and get something sentimental for around £20.I love surprises!0 -

I've read that £30 is the average, but of course it does depend on your own financial situation, how close you are and just what you want to give. At the end of the day it's a mean spirited couple that only invite people for the gifts and would actually be anything less than very happy to receive any gift they are given.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
