On Times Square is the TKTS box. Half price tkts for that days shows. If you want to see a top show you have to queue for a while. there was a small box in Battery park when we went with smaller queues.Think its moved now though.

The hotel concierge should give you all the info you need, just remember to tip him. The Red Bus tour is a great way to see NY especialy if you get a great guide.
    Take lots of dosh!!!!
  • Get your Broadway tickets before you go. We did, the queues at TKTS were enormous and their offers were EXACTLY the same as http://www.broadwaybox.com/

And the earlier you book, the better seats you'll get (probably).

Also, some Theatres do a "lottery" - turn up 2.5 hours before the show, write name on a card, if it gets drawn out the hat you get to buy good seats for about $20. We got a box at Dirty Rotten Scoudrels - everyone else was waiting across the road at Avenue Q hoping to win their lottery draw.

There's a TKTS booth down by South Street Seaport that is hooked up to the same system that the Times Sq one uses.

I have always used this one, maybe a queue of 10 people max. It's diagonal from the GAP store down there and Abercrombie and Fitch

Water Street I think from my memory

Why people queue at Times Square for hours I will never know

  • I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance!)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W

    Hope that helps
  • herman2811 - your posts about Venere are becoming spam/tiresome. Are you affialiated with Venere.com???

I know there are two TKTS booths (BTW the one in Time Square has/had been temporarily re-located "round the corner") but their offers are very similar to those on the net. In TimeSquare the LED displays list the % discount against the shows (for that day) and most are the same as on the net.

I'd use them if I wanted to see a show that day, but if I know in advance what I want to see then I would recommend you book in advance as you ought to get better seats.

Many of the offers at https://www.Broadwaybox.com link into https://www.Telecharge.com (aka https://www.Broadwayoffers.com ).
