  • I got my merlin passes last week(i was sooo excited :-) ) and we did legoland, thorpe and chessington last week (i was at chessington in the rain on wednesday as well) my children are 5,10 and 13 and Chessington was the favourite - the children want to go there for halloween - even my 13yo wasnt impressed with Thorpe - too much like a fairground - her words. Legoland was great we went later in the afternoon as it was open till 8 so we didnt have to queue for rides

make sure you make use of the 20% off food, drinks and gifts it makes everything so much more reasonable.

We have also been to the sealife centre at Birmingham which again all 3 children loved. And they have a fast past entrance so you don't need to queue.

I can't wait for the rest of the year now :-) Enjoy your passes

Fun, wasn't it? I've never been so saturated!

Must admit I do love some of the rides at Thorpe- Stealth and Saw especially- but it's not nearly as well themed as AT or Chessington. It's just one big mass of steel. We'll be dropping DD3 and her BF there later in the month (it's her 16th) and then going off to Chessington with DD4 for the day. I might just sneak a quick ride in on Stealth though to wake me up :D The other thing that puts me off TP with younger ones is being in queues with (not always, but often) lairy sweary groups of "youths."

We're off up to Scarefest at Alton, which I'm reallly looking forward too- Air in the dark :j But I'm very, very weary of Fright Nights at TP now, the queues are beyond horriffic. Last year was interesting- I got told my costume was the best in the park (that's including the staff) but wouldn't reccommend a steel boned corset, skirt, knee length heeled boots and a cloak for riding Stealth. Not the most comfy experience! :rotfl:

  • Have been to all those mentioned and Gullivers is the best, not because the rides are the most high tec because they aren't but because the queues are almost non existent which is what you need when they're young.

    Doesn't that tell you something.

We went to Gullivers in Warrington a couple of years ago and to be honest we wouldn't go again as it was a bit of a run down old dump.
  • We like Thomasland at Drayton Manor Park. There are a mixture of both kiddy and thrill rides here.

Also as others have said Gullivers at Matlock was great to.
