    TBH, I don't think you have a case for backdated benefit and the system is what it is. At the end of the day, you have found the money up to now, you make a claim and any help that you can get is yours.

    However, there are a load of things I dont know about so I find out, google, CAB etc. I don't blame those institutions for not making me aware, I have to take some responsibility and this is a hard fact of life but this is only my view and not one that others may share!

    Also, if you pay Ctax, you will probably see somewhere on the back of the bill, that council tax benefit is mentioned.
    I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.
