Urmmmmmm folks I live in Wales, where we tend not to pay rip off prices.

The advert was from the back of the local paper, £1199 a fully installed combi central heating system with up to seven radiators and it takes the guy (and two other helpers) 1 day to install.

BTW the guy who advertises this has an excellent reputation.

is that not the advert that's in a few of the national tabloids every now and again for something similar, isn't it a woefully small boiler normally?
  • Any idea what papers etc as I would like to see the details regardless.

Also if anyone can recommend someone in the Middlesex area

Have a look at similar packages at http://www.discountheating.com where you can buy Combi packages, including rads for around £660 + but take advice from a plumber first.

Sorry don't know a Plumber in you area but if there's any new sites being built in you area by reputable builders pop in and ask for the plumbers phone number.

quite impressed with those prices! some decent kit for not much at all really.

ive seen similar in the back of the sun a few times.

cant argue with £1k fitted for a small flat!
  • I was under the impression that from April 2005 all boilers installed had to meet the new emissions targets i.e. condensing boilers.
The only way you could have a back boiler was if there was absolutely no feaseable place in which to fit a condensing boiler.
If anyone knows different please correct me.

  • Hi guys.

I'm still waiting for my m8 to give me a quote. He actually said he would recommend NOT getting a condensing one as more things tend to go wrong with them. (He said after April you HAVE to get a condensing one) plus that you can get a lot of plume from these.

We have to have a vertical flue regardless and I don't really want to p*ss the neighbours off too much.

What do you guys think about his comments?

Also, if any of you guys have seen any promo's in the South East/London/Middlesex area in papers etc please LMK

if your neighbours are upset about a few 'clouds' of water vapour I suggest they get on the phone to the no win no fee solicitors and start a claim versus God

I really don't think water vapour is a reason not to get a condensing boiler(I'm sure from memory teh fumes out of old boilers smelt a lot worse but just happened to be invisible due to higher temp, a condensing boilers fumes are visible because that extra bit of heat has been used to heat your water instead)
