I heard on BBC breakfast the other week that Cocoa prices have been rising globally - so you might like to bulk buy if you can XMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

I have found that the flavour isn't as deep or complex as Green and Blacks cocoa, if that makes sense. However as I'm using it to make cakes for my family and not to gain Michelin stars that doesn't bother me. I tend to use lots of it, but then I did the same with Green and Blacks and switching is saving me quite a bit, given that I'm getting almost constant requests for brownies and chocolate cake.0

I'm still using some stockpiled Polish cocoa, which was reduced to 15p about a year ago. It isn't quite in the the same league as G&B, but it does well for a basic chocolate cake. I do tend to put in a bit of melted plain chocolate as well to add umph. I havent come across the value cocoa in our local Mr T.Surviving the ups and downs of life with DH

Have to be honest, I'm not a fan of Tesco own brand cocoa. I found it had a slightly funny aftertaste (and believe me, I'm not a brand snob!). I've never actually seen a Tesco Value version though?
I can't afford Green & Blacks but I do try and buy Bournville which is lovely and works out a wee bit cheaper, and I find Aldi cocoa is really not bad.0 -
I'm a HUGE baker, I use it all the time and I like it. I bake for school and everyone loves my brownies and choc cakes.0

No, I've never seen the 99p one either. Is it alongside the others and is it just pure cocoa?0

I use Tesco own brand cocoa for baking and it's always been fine. I've not seen a value version but I would be tempted to try it ... a blind taste test you understand :whistle:Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0
