Tesco toshiba laptop trade in

Hi, I found this on the TESCO leaflet. I got a very old HP PIII laptop just sitting there gathering dust. So I am going to trade it in for a new laptop. I am a bit confused about the C650 range(15"6 size screen). Which model has the best value? I am a business user, mainly internet, excel, ebay, bbc iplayer, etc. No games. How does the c900 compare to the other CPU? I want a basic laptop NOT a netbook. Thanks in advance.

In my opinion the best deal for you would be to purchase the
Toshiba L500-19ZT6600 model. With your £50 trade-in the price would be £429.

It has a superior Core 2 Duo processor to the C650 models, more memory and a bigger hard disk so represents better value for money.

Although the C650 models will do what you want, it's a little like comparing a 1.0 litre car to a 1.4/6 litre one. Yes the smaller engine will get you where you need to go but the bigger engine will do it easier and with less effort.

Alternatively, the Dell Vostro 3500 is considered a very good value business laptop as is the Lenovo Thinkpad. The Lenovos start at £441 and the Dell Vostro is £492 incl VAT

    Hope this helps.

Well, trade in an old piece of junk and get £50 off seems a good deal to me!
The entry level model becomes £270, which is a ridiculous price (even for a celery based system).

Thanks for all your reply. But which one of the c650 (<£450) has the best value?

C900 vs Core 2 Duo vs AMD cpu?

I dont want to spend too much on a laptop as I mainly use my desktop.

my person feelings as far as the CPU's go are
    1/ Core 2 Duo
    2/ AMD v120
    3/ Celeron C900

this however is not based totally on fact as the AMD v120 is pretty new and so there is not much info about it so i am only saying it is better than the celeron based on the fact it really should be as the celeron is quite old now and has never been a top CPU anyway
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Be careful, the T&C's state the old laptop MUST have an Intel or AMD processor and it MUST have a DVD Drive.

I've got an old laptop in the garage gathering dust but it's so old it's only got a CD Drive (DVD's hadn't been invented back then) ......so are too old for this scheme.

But it is still a very good deal if you've got something a bit less older to trade in.

It also states it has to have a battery and charger. I have an old laptop that fits these criteria, but the battery doesn't hold a charge and the charger cable can be difficult to get it to make a connection. Wonder if it still qualifies?
