i have a safety gate on my kitchen door to prevent my DD switching on washing machine / switching on cooker, opening fridge freezer doors, alot cheaper than fitting all my cupboards with childproof catches, locks for the freezer, cooker guard etc

Hehehehe, I'm so glad I had finished my tuna and salad sarnie before reading this thread:rotfl: . This greasy gunk I call SCURF, because my machine is a top-loader and the tub doesn't move it creates a tide-mark at the highest water level like in the bath so I can just wipe it off with a rag.

I use vinegar as conditioner in my machine. I smells faintly of vinegar when you remove the washing but that disappears after a few minutes
    Fat and proud lol
  • Couldn't work out where the musty smell was coming from on my machine - then I had a good look at the rubber door seal and it has a nasty clump of mould in the fold - YUK! Not sure how to shift it - any ideas?

  • Apart from wiping it down to get rid of the mould i have not a clue. You could try the vinegar tip above.

Would probably work out more expensive for me at the moment. I have a fridge lock on my door and all my kitchen units had to be ripped out due to work being done on the house. Goodness knows how long it will be before i will have my kitchen fitted, (which is currently taking up a lot of space at OHs mums) its already been 14 months.

I did have 2 new stair gates as well but i gave them away to a friend when i moved into here as its a bungalow. A bit stupid as we are adding another floor. Grrr.
