Ford Galaxy, either old or new shape, my sisiter was in the same situation as you some years ago, initially had a Seat Alhambra, Galaxy in a spanish skirt, then changed for the new shape Galaxy in 2008, no big issues in normal use, especially diesels, try and avoid ex minicabs, they have been known to do an easy 300k, they aren't the cheapest, but they are good long term proposition, the TDi's will give 40mpg easily, even round town if driven normally, almost 50mpg on a run.
As far as Citreon go I wouldn't touch one, no matter how cheap, same goes for the Fiat and Peugeot based on the same platform, especially Black Fiat Ulysse as these where almost completely purchased by a large minicab fleet in London, from '99 to '05.
Renault Espace, nice looking in the new shape, but I know a lot of people had them and they cost them a lot of money, admittedly they where used for work. The City of London Police had one, and it used to have a new engine fitted every year by Renault, but the servicing was paid for by Renault UK, as it was good product placement.
Also ignore the Zafira as you won't get three childseats in the first row.0 -

I like the look of the Espace and have been looking at prices etc and they are not tooo much - could get a half decent one for about £500 more then trade in price for our car so worth lookinginto......Atleast we have about 7 mths to find a bargainGC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. We have a Kia sedona at the moe - its a good car (has had a few problems though) but the back seat will never fit 3 car seats and we could even it two car seats and dd in the middle without one even if we wanted.....
We dont use the car to much - our car has done 33000 and its a 05 plate - think it had done 22k when we got it 2.5 yrs ago.....But we do need a car as we live in a village and family live a hr away in car........
