New owner not available to sign registration docs
We've just sold a car on eBay and the purchaser wants to send a friend to pick it up. Consequently he won't be able to sign the new owner document - and wants the friend to 'sign' in his stead. Is this possibly a scam of some kind? Is it legal to have someone other than the new owner to sign this form? He will be filling in the new owner's details.
Any advice/experiences appreciated.

I wouldnt worry. It could be Mickey Mouse, as long as theres a name, address and signature and you send it back, a new log book should be issued.0

Last car I bought, I paid by bank transfer and sent a company to collect it, the seller filled in the V5c and signed both boxes. Job done, new v5c arrived a few weeks later.0

The legal owner does not necessarily have to be the registered keeper, it tells you that on the V5C itself.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0

I forgot to get a buyer to sign the V5 once after filling in the name and address details. I just thought what the heck and sent if off anyway. No come back.0
