Hey,
I had some pretty severe virus problem a few weeks back, I kept getting rid of it using certain free spyware/malware stuff because Mcaffe wouldn't do a thing, but it kept coming back. My computer went funny because of it and I ended up having to restore to factory settings.
However on two of my email accounts I have gotten messages about my changing my password which I haven't. Here's one I got:
Your Yahoo! ID is: an*******
Your password for this account has recently been changed. You don't need to do anything, this message is simply a notification to protect the security of your account.
Please note: your new password may take awhile to activate. If it doesn't work on your first try, please try it again later
***************************************************************
I don't even recognise that ID and have no idea why it's starred out! And if my password has been changed how is it i'm still using the old one? I changed the password on one of the accounts after this happened but didn't with the other because I'm wondering if it's worth it.
And btw I have lots of private stuff in my email...I could barely get to sleep last night just thinking about it.
I made a note of some of the viruses before I did factory restore, they include:
Trojan:Win32/fakespyro
Trojan:Win32/Hiloti
Worm.Koobface
Worm.Prolaco
Java/CVE-2008 (there were multiple variants)
Worm:win32/Conficker.C
I am not very computer literate when it come to this sort of thing but I am very stressed, if someone could advise me I would be soo grateful....
Thanks
L.

Hello , Your computer sounds virused , download HIjackthis
http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html
And paste the scan please0 -
And then when you are clean, please uninstall McAfee and use a decent AV program. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I am getting this message when I run Hijackthis:
For some reason your system denied write access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, Hijackthis may not be able to fix this...
It then has some other stuff that it says.
I don't know what this means and I can't put on the log as it has links and the site won't allow me.
Sorry again, but any tips?0 -

Hi right click on HijackThis then run as Administrator, but first I would download and run Malwarebytes, from here select the free download, then when it is installed go to the update and update it, then run a scan.
The post the log here. If you find you cannot post logs as you said earlier use COLOR=Red]*code**/code*[/COLOR and don't use the *
then it comes up like thislogs http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php logs
