PS I keep asking my local carperwrong if I can pay for everything (Carpet & fitting) on one invoice & they keep saying no, pay separately.. So why do I want to do that - well, if there's a problem and you've paid separately, guess what each party (Carpetwrong & fitter) will say is the problem...[/QUOTE]

Bu the fitters are not carperwrong employees, they are self employed. I'm not 100% sure but don't they have to pay carpetwrong a weekly fee to be one of their fitters?

We got a sort of mossy green wool based carpet in our previous house, that was quite hard wearing (it withstood the cat) and I don't think it was very expensive. Don't get beige - every house I have ever rented has had beige and it's a sod to keep it clean. If I got to choose I'd ask for wood flooring throughout.
