Judging by your previous post, and the fact that you tried to install Win98 over the top of Vista via a floppy disk, and it's not finding anything when you boot I would probably say your HDD has failed. Probably because it was failing and you ran chkdsk so many times while it was failing you probably totally killed it, when you should have been copying your files and photos onto an external drive instead of following advice from some of the wannabe's on here. Any way, go to Ebuyer but an new HDD reinstall your OS and away you go, you might be lucky and plug your old HDD into another machine as a slave and recover some of your data.... might...;-)

Ok. maybe it was late last night. So maybe you can explain why that you think that I am wrong about you.

You just like some of the other 'wannabees' on here, have jumped to a number of conclusions.
Some of them written in a strange language, such as "The fact that the drive was failing the OP installed 98 over the top"...even you can see that doesn't make much sense.

Of course there are seeming inconsistencies in what the OP states and it could well be that a new hard disc is needed.

But you never at any time asked the OP if she had backed up her data and on the second post in the thread, deigned to label some of your fellow members 'wannabees' when you were the only person contributing to the thread. :)

Then suggesting that she installed Windows 98 with a Floppy Disc.....

As an 'experienced' member of a money saving website, you might imagine back up and repair might be the first ports of call.

So I would appreciate you explaining to me how know I have become one of those 'wannabees' that you described earlier and how you knowledge is superior to ours.

Honestly, you should call it a day on this one, because it is you who is wrong.
Not only were you overly harsh to the OP, but overly rude to your fellow members.

Don't worry about it. It can happen to anyone. But don't compound it by trying to insist that you are right.

    meh

try ubuntu, first as a livecd to see if you can access your hard drive and then to back up your files.

then if you do not have any specific program you just MUST use i would format your hard drive and install it properly,
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
