Hi, Our membership was more than paid for this year by a discount we got when on a hiking tour in Canada, it was available to anyone who was a member of an organisation affiliated to the International group which the UK YHA is. So we're in profit already.

But especially now it's just adult cards instead of a family membership, it's normally a bit more difficult to make savings to cover the membership. But we're planning to use the card next summer in some European Hostels, and the discounted rates should again easily cover it.

I can see how you/I could save cash with the YHA card if it was used regularly, but I can't see me using the card beyond getting this jacket for the wife :rolleyes:

I gotta a tip for those who enjoy walking and the outdoors, if you spend £50 on goods at Millets Camping Shops, you can buy a £25 gift voucher for £10. I send the tip so that if you were buying £75.00 of clothes then split it and pop back the next day for the rest saving £15.00, the vouchers are valid until April 2006. Not sure if this is a permanent offer or when it runs out.

My friend bought a cath Kidston sleeping bag a few week ago for £14.99 from Millets ..I just phoned my local millets and they said they won't be putting any bags out till the summer sale...Does anybody know when that is or anybody have any codes as it's online at the moment but its £20 something and then £4.99 postage where as in store it should be £14.99...Any help greatly appreciated
