This is just a vent, some will be familiar with the story, but it takes new twists....

I have been trying to sell my house on and off for going on 18 months (my mum died half way through, hence some of the delay)....

For the past 7 months the house has fallen through twice involving same person...

1st time it fell through I lost the house I was in for... Reason problem re land the guys house was on...his drive built on part of someone elses land...

We re-advertised had some interest but nothing happened.. few months later 1st guy comes back...We are understandably reluctant...our esstate agent assures us having spoke with his solicitor everything is sorted...surveys are done...all is looking good...guess what old problem comes up again.

We are buying new house deadline is approaching,,, we give guy 1 all the time we can then when its clear he has done nothing we re-advertise (this was Tuesday)..so we are very low as you can imagine.

Weget a viewing immediately, guy has com into money, doesn't need to sell house..views our house loves it..sympathises with us says how genuine he is etc..goes to estate agent last night offers full asking price.. we are high again...

get a phone call this afternoon, his bank tells him he cant afford it...

I cant believe this, I am soo tired, we are running out of time quick and it seems we can do little, to be honest Im not sure I have the energy to do anymore

Can we start a thread about "idiots you have met during the house buying/selling process"? Both buying and selling idiots.

    RHemmings,

my thoughts exactly, it is incrediable they are everywhere
  • I sympathise with you.I have only been going 7 months and it has fallen through 3 times,no fault of our own,but we are the ones that are suffering.

I have to renegotiate mortgages now and of course rates have gone up quite a bit since and our mortgage will now cost us about £80 more per month all through the fault of others in the chain.
That also means if we now change mortgage company another valuation will have to be done and so more money.

There are some real idiots about who seems to care for nobody but themselves.

Nightmare, totally understand. Hope it sorts itself out soon.
    Pawpurrs x ;)
  • That is just awful - all I can say is hang on in there and it will right itself eventually. Have you thought about putting it to auction?
  • I hate reading stories such as these when I am in the midst of buying/selling myself right now. Hope you get a serious buyer soon.
  • total idiots. why are people like that allowed to buy property.
