Help - Claiming for a Static Caravan Fire

Hoping there is someone out there who can offer advice:
July 15th fire damaged bedroom in our static caravan caused by our friends daughter on a Haven site 130 miles away from home.
Caravan site said they would deal with everything for us when my husband drove up following morning.
3 weeks later still waiting for details. Finally managed to get time off work to go up at which point almost had to force them to give us a copy of email insurance company had sent the week before with details of repair value and stating that we could have the money for repair to put towards a new van.
Site offered us a van that was 2 years newer (ours 11 years old but in excellent condition) but much smaller and with bunk beds not suitable for adults. Next best van offered would cost us £100 over 84 months!
Said we could exchange van, have ours repaired or the insurance company had authorised them to say we could take the money instaed of repairing. Also said we were likely to have lots of problems etc, etc and could not give a date when repairs woud be made by so sadly agreed to hand our beloved van back.
The insurance company now say they will take off 40% off cost of repairs for depreciation, wear and tear to van! They said they were only offering to give the full monetary value if we had exchanged the van for another but we were not offered like for like.
We had already lost £1,172 in site fees that we can't get back plus £3,750 in bookings as it was just before the start of the summer holidays of which we can only claim back £800.
If we had known about this we would never have given up the van!
We have said this is not acceptable and have put in a complaint to Haven and Insurance but where do we stand as everyone is blaming the other!
