They're not all that bad, several around here are staight-up guys and are very good at what they do.
Also, I've had MOTs done on old heaps at dealers (local Ford AR is often the cheapest around here for MOTs) and never had a problem, only fair failures. Even managed a first time pass on an "L" plate Escort I took them last year, that's practially unheard of!
