Might Lose Standard Selling Performance On Ebay

To be honest I am quite peeved about this to start with, in basic terms I have ended up with 3 low ratings on dispatch time to which another one means I will lose my standard status.

First I am not happy about this as I post 95% of items the day after payment and the rest the day after, What do people expect? I am not a business and I can't see my ebay selling for the day until I get home from work, I never promised next day delivery.

As it is I do list my auctions with "will post within 3 working days" in the options just so people don't expect a super fast delivery. But in reality if sombody pays on a monday the should get it wednesday or thursday, whats the problem?

Overall my ratings are 4.9,4.9,4.7,5.0 and the 4.7 was a 4.9 until recently.

Secondly what will happen if I do slip over the limits and lose my standard status, will my listing be dropped to the bottom of lists, will fees start costing more.

not a subject many are keen to talk about I`m afraid !

- I lost my "status" some time back - cant say I`ve noticed much difference to be honest

- yes the listings you post will be buried , but if people want what your selling - they will find you !

don't worry about it, i'm doing great on my business acc but my personal one sucks, i got a serial negger and they hacked at my dsrs for a couple of purchases. I'd only just got out of below standard from another idoit. Not going to get out anytime soon either it doesnt budge for ages!
I'm still selling and not noticed any difference, i've actually started looking for sellers on the last page of best match in the hope of getting a bargain but maybe thats what everyone else is doing lol

I know its a case of can't please them all, but some people must not understand. By all means if I get an item late I look at the postage label and it is usually royal and not the seller.

I suppose it annoys me, as a buyer I am always fair with my feedback yet as a seller I am subject to what can only be morons. Don't get me wrong most buyers are great and pay quickly and leave good feedback when I do everything right.

I suppose I just want to know why they have done it.

As a frequent buyer and only very occasional seller, I would say that when I search I never use ebay's default search but always search by either ending soonest or lowest price, depending on my needs. I also take far more notice of feedback comments than of DSRs, as I find them to be much more illuminating, so I wouldn't worry about it.

The only thing that will get you suspended is the amount of 1 or 2 * ratings left, so just keep an eye on your expanded dashboard. There is an argument to suggest that if that gets in the danegrous zone for suspension that you close the account before you get suspended as that way you are allowed to open another one, if you get suspended you can't open another one.

4.7 though isn't really an issue on its own.

Well a few more have left feedback and its popped back up to 4.8, I guess I need to be a lot 'worse' before I get suspended.

Yet again personally I don't use the best match search so hopefully man others don't either.

As it is I am not a business but have been emptying my house so my selling will be coming to an end eventually and will beome ocasional selling, and I recently hit the milestone of 1000 feedback so I should on the bright side I suppose.

Thanks people, I have stopped stessing now and will just get on with it.

Many people just use the default search, Percy, I used to change to Ending Soonest, and still do in some categories that are still mainly auction listings, but I'm interested in the product, not specifically the seller, so I have a feeling there's plenty of people out there like me who don't figure that out.
