Extreme Sports Cover (Mixed Martial Arts)

Hello,
I am looking for some advice. I am trying to find cover that will insure me for taking part in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts, or cage fighting as it is commonly known). I was with an american company (westpoint), however they have pulled their specialist insurance.
I need health care cover that will insure me for injury whilst fighting. The insurance my Gym provides only covers me whilst training in the gym and not at events. I have a event coming up very soon and we are struggling to find health insurance. The events are always in england so dont need to worry about travel insurance etc.
Does anyone know of a good insurance firm that will cover for injuries and recovery (broken bones etc). I have tried the usual insurance but they class MMA as an extreme sport and do not cover this.
Any help would be appreicated.
Thanks

I can't actually help you much but I have to comment that insurance covering someone who engages in a sport where the object and intention is to hurt the other person into submission is a bit like insuring the burglar against being caught. I wouldn't want to be the underwriter charged with rating (and providing a wording) for that one!
But I do admire your courage being a participant in that sport.:beer:42 years of experience in the insurance industry.
And nothing the industry tries do to us surprises me any more!0 -
If there is an association or organisation for your sport (whether you are in it or not) they will have a list of insurers or at least one so you should try contacting them.
That's how other people I know who do sports that are labelled as extreme have got insurance cover.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Hello Thanks for your posts. The main association is ISKA in the UK but there is no de facto association unfortunately. I will try giving them a call.0
