My last Homebuyer's Report picked up the dodgy electrics in the house we were planning to buy - hence me needing a second survey on a new property! I would expect dodgy electrics to be something most HBR would pick up, in that this is a defect that is hard to 'hide' and should be fairly obvious from looking at the fusebox/visible wiring. Most deal-breaker wiring issues can be found by the homebuyer themselves if they know what to look for...Perhaps you just had a duff surveyor!
