Hi guys,

I need to let off some steam!

I was in work the other day - parked my car in the works car park and an hour later some woman had reversed into it

I'm very shocked to be honest she owned up and came to find me! she apologised and all that but i'm obviously still a bit cheesed off.

She doesn't want to go through the insurance and although it's quite a small scratch now (that's after me trying to avoid a Garage trip by polishing the area myself!) it's still annoying me as it's still visible at close quarters.

She mentioned £50 to sort but i'm not too sure! i've got to get a couple of quotes and get back to her, i reckon she may be in for a shock as i want it back to how it was!

Here's some pics:

It's an improvement but still not happy :(

Does anyone know a decent car body repair garage in the WA15 or Manchester area?

Thanks

Don't worry about the third party not wanting her insurance involved - get the final estimate from your chosen bodyshop (that way you can tell them what they got to beat before they do the quote), and write to her, asking she agree to pay all the costs involved (including a hire car for you whilst the job is carried out, and all your expenses involved in getting the quotes she requested). She will soon pass this over to her insurer as that repair plus a hire car will run to £hundreds, not £50!

Agreed, some people have no idea of costs of body repairs and other costs involved.

Holy mother! just got back from a repair garage and the results are in!

Cash price £220 + VAT!! or insurance jobby £536!!!

I'm waiting on a couple of other quotes now.

I think she may not like that!

Tough luck for her, she should look where she is going.;)
  • Depending on the vehicle, I'd look at SMART repair. If the car's worth less than a few grand, definately the way I'd go.

Cost £100, bloke turns up and does it on your driveway, nobody will ever know. Everybody is happy. Job done.

    Regards,
    Andy
