While delivering my new Miele washing machine they ripped up my brand new vinyl floor fitted by Cabot Carpets, Bristol (who are fab by the way).
They said it was up to me to protect the floor, but I thought it would be fine as I moved the old one in and out a few times with no problems. I did not expect them to be twisting, turning and dragging it around on the floor and really not taking any care at all, I thought they were going to be professionals. It looked like it was in a quilted bag so I thought it was going to be ok but turns out it was only the top and sides of the machine that were wrapped in the quilt, (what happenbed to the box)? Can I take it to the small claims? It is so dissappointing to suffer this can't be bothered attitude by a local independent company I now wish badly that I had gone to John Lewis.

who said it was down to you
the delivery staff or the company?0 -
Both I think they are the same thing. Still I am defeated the manager called back today and he is not going to change his mind and compensate us. He said the delivery people asked me to put something down on the floor which is a complete lie but he doesn't know who to believe! As if I would have just said no if they had asked me to protect it. They were in such a hurry and did not even assess the floor before they brought the item in.0

Go to their store and stay there until you are happy with the agreed way forward.0
