    I'm never frightened me ;)

Re: CBFM - probably because it wants you to spend more money on the sticks for it ;)

Emsbet hope you are ok? I'm sure you are better off at work as at least you can be occupied for large swathes of time. Ignore me if you feel I'm talking 'bo**ocks (see how I keep the thread to a reproductive theme here??)

You are right (good work sticking to the reproductive theme! ;)) it does help keep my mind off things. I really struggle with stuff I can't control. I hate not being in control of what's going on - although I should probably learn to get over that if I'm going to have children! ;)

I do feel we know too much about ourselves these days. For example - chemical pregnancies would not cause as much heartache in the 40s as people would not have been home testing and have 'known' their period was late.

BMI - scale is not 100% accurate, especially for BME and does not make allowances for family biology. I was under/around 6 stone at 5.2 for years and I've always liked my food. Age has made me struggle a bit with my tummy but I am still an 8 without trying. The point I am making is try not to worry about your weight as being under weight does not always indicate being unheathly.

That's definitely true. Science and Medicine are wonderful but sometimes too much knowledge is not a good thing.
BMI shouldn't be used on it's own as it doesn't give a complete picture. It doesn't take into account things such as fat to muscle ratio. And of course there are other factors such as diet, exercise, livestyle etc that determine whether a person is healthy or not.
Some people just don't put on weight. My DH and his family are all skinny but it's just their natural state - they can eat how much they like and it makes little difference to their size. I am slim but I have to work at it and be aware of how much I'm eating. Everyone is different.

Incidentally I lost weight unexpectedly and had to actively pig out to fit back into my wedding dress. Probably destroyed a part of my heart in doing so.

I lost about 11lbs for my wedding and because I had a tight fitting dress the girl who was making my dress was panicing I would lose too much as she saids brides to be almost always lose weight in the last couple of weeks. so I had to promise not to lose anymore weight and so in the last few weeks I had to pig out because it was true the weight just kept falling off - they were a good two weeks! ;)

BTW - Is the CBFM any good? I use cheapy OPK's but have so far not wanted to part with the best part of £100.

Would anyone reccommend it? (which is a strange question to ask really cos if it works then would you be here? )

And thanks regarding the folic acid info. I have decided to start taking it against my better judgement as soon as I get some. (the stats are off.... cannot remember exactly why I am saying this but when I looked at it the sample was too small/discourse off).

Then straight after people asked about smear's and Rubella! Which reminds me - do try and get a smear first. I was offered a smear many moons ago and found out I had pre-cancerous cells... I was still in my teens, only just but still.
and I never knew people still got rubella. I'm probably more likely to contract TB (I live in a high TB area), but I assume all of my jabs are up to date and working and will do until I ask.

I have heard good things about them. Quite a few here use them I think but I'm like you and have been reluctant to part with that much money.
If you do decide to get one there are often some cheaper on eBay and Amazon.

I think they are amazing and Im only in my second month of using it. I normally get a good 4-5 days warning before my Lh surge.

But yes, they arent cheap. I managed to get my monitor plus 20 sticks for about £70. Which once we are preggers, I'll prob re-sell!
