Thanks for the tips I will checkout co-op for chicken. I always stock up on tinned toms too. I find giving something a fancy name goes down well so tinned toms, kidney beans ,onions, stock & italian herbs (+ whatever else) = Tuscan bean soup
everyone in my family loves that and they sell it in an arty farty cafe near me for £2 a cup!
This week I also bought lamb bones('for stock' it says on the pack) in morrisons for 40p. I slow cooked for ages and got loads of meat from them and lovely stock. combined with onion,potatoto,cabbage,carrot,pearl barley and mint for a delicious irish broth. made about six good portions.
This week aldi have baking potatoes for 59p (2.5kg) loads of pots in a bag so jackets will be on the menu this week. probably with bean chilli.
Aldi also have nice toms, sweetcorn and runner beans at 59p which are all nice too
