Hi all a pushchair I have been wanting for ages as come up on ebay, buyer originally put collection only, but has agreed to send by courier but has no packaging. I have suggested wrapping it in numerous bin bags do you think this would be acceptable to a courier?
If not any other suggestions for packaging it, am trying to make as easy as possible as the seller didn't originally want to send and for once is at a price I can afford.

Personally I would expect a box as well to stop the pushchair being damaged in transit. However, it's cheeky enough you asking for a collection only item to be posted so I wouldn't push your luck.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Surely it'll get damaged? Even if you ask nicely if they could just pop some cardboard around it first, like cuttoffs - sellotape them together and then put the black bag around it? I dont think the courier will GAF as long as the address and sender is on it0

I bought a stroller off Ebay. It was collection only, but the seller agreed to post it to me via courier if I won. They did, and they managed to get a box that fit it perfectly!0

Couriers will usually not accept items which aren't packaged well.
Also if the item gets damaged in transit, you won't be able to claim for it because of the packaging you used.Young moneysaver in the making

Agree with the other posters - if she can't box it, I'd forget it. At a pinch, maybe a cocoon of bubble wrap with all edges firmly taped down would do, but she's even less likely to have a roll of large bubble wrap and parcel tape at her fingertips. Don't go with the blavk bag idea - the courier will either refuse it or the pushchair will arrive damaged. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

Depending on how much cheaper this item is than others you've seen, you could buy a large roll of bubble wrap/parcel tape from eBay, have them sent to the seller and chuck them a fiver or so for their time, too?10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0
