I bought a TV from a well known supermarket just over 2 years ago for over £650. I had been having probs with the picture and sent it to a repair shop who after 2 months of liaising with Philips have now said it would cost more to repair than to buy a new one! They suggested I try and get some refund from either the shop or manufacturer but after this amount of time does anyone know if this is worth pursuing? Has anyone else had any success in a similar position? Grateful for any suggestions.

Get a written report which MUST state there was an inherent fault from Philips and get your proof of purchase and goto the supermarket and under the SOGA you have proved the goods there was an inherent fault as is your duty after 6 months as the customer and as such the company has the option to replace, repair, refund (this maybe a partial refund though as you have had some use of it)The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!
