Buying Shares

Hi I'm seriously considering investing in stocks and shares. Each month I want to spend a specific amount on stocks and shares of my choice. Can anyone advise as to which is the cheapest way to do this?
Thanks Steve.
Thanks Steve.

As long as you don't mind not being able to choose the precise moment you buy then iii's Portfolio Builder is likely to be your best bet.0

I noticed that Natwest also offer a similar product (although I've not had a chance to look at their fees).0

Id agree with the above, its what i used and if u set trades just a day in advance you can buy for £1.50! iii are the cheapest and most efficient broker around.0 -

I can also verify that iii is a good bet.
selling costs £10 though, but if you're building up gradually then it shouldn't matter.
Also, as a side note, I don't know how much you want to invest each month but for shares I think the minimum is £20 and for funds its around £50.Savings: 9.5%

More expensive from a 10 second look - £1.50 buy, £15 sell. I think other charges may apply too but I stopped reading at that point.edinburgher wrote: »I noticed that Natwest also offer a similar product (although I've not had a chance to look at their fees).0 -

Hey mate
you researched and commented in the risky shares/worse buys thread, however i think i spoke too soon as the last few days sirius exploration has released some phenominal news, just today it announced partnership with the chinese and the sp shot up over 25%!0
