trust me ( ha ha) one coat paint is rubbish
next thing , when you beat the price down a trades man will not take as much care on the work he will want to finnish quicker to earn the same money , you are only conning your self0 -
i don't know where whatprice.co.uk get their paint from , but £20 for 5lts of emulsion ain't going to get you anything worth putting on your walls , if they are that far out on something that you know the price of then their quotes can only be taken with a large helping of salt
you need to renegotiated you're discount then ,
I'm getting Gliddens vinyl matt tinted for just over £16
magnolia just over a £10
contract mag 10lts just over £11
some will get better than me as i've cut my spending down with them quite a bit, but i'd say that price is right.0 -

thanks for the tip ,but i'd
rather stick to quality stuff rather than give my customers cheap paint ,0 -
Gliddens is the cheap trade brand from the house of Dulux. Its OK in white and magnolia if the customers strapped for cash but in preference I wouldn't use it.you need to renegotiated you're discount then ,

Contract gear for anything but a mist coat or in a new build where the developer is being (usually) picky on costs is selling the customer short IMHO.contract mag 10lts just over £11
