Hi does anyone know if it is possible to use a WiFi USB dongle to network a printer. I ask because PCW recently had a Belkin WiFi router with what appeared to be a usb adapter said to do just this.
I know the 5v power supply may be missing fom the printer, or maybe not.
Any thoughts or am I being stupid.

No, you need a wireless print server to wirelessly network a printer. A USB wireless adapter doesn't have the firmware/software for printing.
Having said that, perhaps a clever person has made such a device work for wireless printing.0 -
I agree - you'll need a wireless print server which can be quite picky about which printer's they'll work with
I bought my Dad a 3Com OfficeConnect one which works fine with his Epson printer. There are pleny of various models around on eBay I guess it's a case of suck and see...0 -
