Forex Trading

I received an email about a free seminar on Forex Trading, from a legit site; notgoingtouni.co.uk I have registered to go to a local seminar, as it says it is completely free and I have wanted to try my hand at trading for some time.

However everything I have read about Forex Trading screams "SCAM" I just can't see how they would get money from me, other than at the seminar try and sell some product, book etc to me. But then can't I just say no thanks and be on my way?

What do people think about Forex Trading in general and also whether this seminar could be a scam?

Thanks

While I have no idea about this one free investment seminars are usually nothing more than lengthy high pressure sales speels.
  • Yea I've done a bit more research and they just plan to sell a 2k course to you. Think I will be missing that. Its a shame though that such a decent site like notgoingtouni would allow this type of email.

A lot of sites won't have the time/resources/inclination to check the validity of forum posts/links etc. You did the right thing by doing your own research - too many people take everything they read on the internet as gospel.

Don't do it. If you really think you are going to beat expert traders who are paid very large amounts of money and have far more technical resource than you can ever have then you are very much mistaken. the only people who will make any real money doing this are the people you will pay for "training". (Disclaimer: I work for a company who provide FX trading systems to many of the biggest banks in the world.)

So are you saying it is impossible or just hard for one person teaching themselves about FX trading?
