PC problem Please Help! (NEW COMBOFIX RESULTS)

Can anyone help

I’m having some problems with my PC

For some weeks now my PC has been running very slow and refusing to close programs

I am running XP with the Service Pack and was running Microsoft Security Essentials.

I did a scan with Security essential and it found the following two problems which I deleted

TrojanDownloader:Java/openstream.x
TrojanDownloader:win32/fakeinit

After deleting them the PCs performance did not improve

I also ran adaware and search and destroy and they both found nothing.

I was convinced that the security essential was causing the system to run slow so uninstalled this and installed Avast.

However there is still a problem

Boot up till when I can actually click on icons and they open is a long time

When sites do open when I try closing them they do not close and I keep getting the message program not responding and click to end now display

I cannot access Mozilla but could get onto the net after a long time with Internet Explorer.

I did a system restore back to the earliest date I could which was in May but this has not helped.


And it re-installed some aspects of Security Essentials and deleted Avast

I re-installed all of Essentials just to run a full scan to see if it highlighted anything

It was clear

In the end I gave up it is so slow and when I click on any icons nothing opens for such a long time.

Can anyone help?

Is that the one for Hijackthis? i'm not that proficient with technology so i may need some guidance at some point

Its a Dell - not sure of model number as at work - approx six/seven years old
with a rather annoying loud fan or processor in the summer months lol

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')

Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

Do you think you may need more memory? Im a puter dumbo, but my sis has had exactly same probs with her 7 year old Dell and this week she got a techi in who added 2 GB memory and she is ecstatic that the puter is now whizzing along. She said at one point it took half an hour to actually connect to the internet one morning

Not sure to be honest

But definitely think there is something running in the background so will try the other stuff first.

I have asked on another thread how you go about clearing out all the websites that have been visited over the years not just recent stuff

Yes, make sure everything is TICKED and REMOVED then a logfile will be created which tells us what was removed

PC seems a little better running

However cannot access the internet with Mozilla Firefox having to use IE.

Long time between mouse clicks and programs opening/closing

When minimizing or closing a page i get the screen closing by sliding down from the top of the screen to the bottom (if you know what i mean)

Anything alarming in these results?

remove all the (file missing) entries using hijackthis

run startuplite

stop limewire running at startup

avast is lighter on resources than mse.
