1/2 Price Seeds etc at Wyvale Garden Centres

I popped in this morning for their 3 for £5 offer on J Arthur Bowers growbags and ended up coming away with more than I expected.

Almost all seeds are 1/2 marked price, every supplier is included. I bought a variety of winter lettuce, spinach and carrots as well as green manure for the outdoor raised beds to over winter. Make sure you look for long expiry dates and get your 2011 plantings on the cheap.

The Franchi veg/salad seed range was also 1/2 price and I've found the retail price very reasonable to start with plus they give you a huge amount of seed compared to Suttons etc.

Weber display BBQs are 1/2 price too which to my mind at least makes them a very good price, I picked up a Weber Go-Anywhere reduced from £54 to £27.

Typically the growbags were not part of the offer but I ended up with 6 for £10 which is fair I guess.

I'm going to start winter plantings in the tunnel soon and have got hold of a load of free cut flower buckets from Sainsburys. So it should be fresh carrots for Christmas

Thanks for the tip-off.

It's perhaps worth noting that Wyevale sometimes cuts the price even further as time passes. Last year my local branch had seeds for much less than half price by late Autumn. Though to be fair, some of the best varieties had gone by then.

Also, Wyevale started this year with a half price seed sale. If they do that again next year, you'll get fresh packets.

I suppose it will depend on how much of a gambler you are....
