£25k to invest/save

I have about £25k I want to invest/save, I was due to buy a house but after 3 years of marital court wrangling & many £1,000's in costs I do not have enough for the deposit. This was due for an investment property so I am thinking the next best thing is another type of investment. I cannot afford to take risks and lose, so looking for the best option available at the moment?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Depends on how risk averse you are.
Also, make use of your ISA for the year.0 -

The OP has already covered thisI cannot afford to take risks and lose, so looking for the best option available at the moment?
Personally, I'd find yourself a local IFA through https://www.unbiased.co.uk, as £25k is a fair chunk to be investing when you're not 100% confident with self-investing.0 -
. I cannot afford to take risks and lose,
So, why were you thinking about an investment property? (just trying to ascertain your risk level when you say you cant afford to take risks but were going to)

Fair point, I guess I just have always looked at property as investment (my marital home now sold so I do not own any property at the moment). It's only now I do not have quite enough to buy a property that I have thought there must be other just as good ways to invest. I guess as already advised I should go to an IFA.0

Oh & risk - this will be the only investment probably I will ever have, so very important

To be honest, I think that saving rather than investing is most likely the sensible option given what you have said.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
