Panasonic TZ7 spare battery options

Options
Hi All,

I've decided to ge the Panasonic TZ7 camera, the only drawback being the not great battery life... So I thought I'd buy a spare battery... The panasonic ones are expensive and I thought a third party one might do the trick...

Anyone have advice on which third party ones are good?

And also, is there any truth in the new Panasonic firmware making other brand batteries not work?

Batteries are one of the things where I've tried third party ones in the past and ended up going back to the original manufacturers ones. Both for cameras and mobile phones.

The cheap 'no name' ones are not worth it in my opinion. They've worked well for a fairly short time and then died.

I've looked at getting third party batteries from named brands such as Uniross who seem to have a good reputation. I have found though that for a little time searching you can pick up the Manufacturers one for not too much more. Just make sure that you research the retailer first....there are fake batteries out there. If it's too good to be true it probably is.

    .

My one that I got from 7dayshop in the above and below links, actually lasts longer than the original Panasonic battery.

I bought a spare one ofr £9 off ebay and its fine. You have to ensure its a decoded battery so that it will because the panny camera has inbuilt software to try and prevent you using imitation batteries.
