Online payments for Non-profit group?

Hi, I co run a neighbourhood watch and hoped to offer online payments to our members. We only charge £2 for 2 years, but hoping having online signup and pay will increase number and decrease admin. I've been looking at google checkout and paypal. Looking for something that's easy to intergrate into a website (I work in IT) and that either free or charges v.small fee.
Google checkout would be ideal as it offers free service to chairties, but although we are non-profit we're not a charity as so don't have a charity reg numbers.
Any suggestions or ideas?

Not quite as straightforward but you give out your BACS details? I find it very easy to use and would have no concerns when it is for £2. I understand not all online shoppers understand BACS but you'll be amazed how many do.
£1 a year is such a small amount I'd be temped to try and get a sponsor or do a one off fundraising event, not sure I could be bothered doing the membership admin for such a small amount. Preferably I'd just create a website and mailing list for free and open it up to anyone.0 -

How do you find matching the BACS payments with customers, I guess surnames will match up.£1 a year is such a small amount I'd be temped to try and get a sponsor or do a one off fundraising event, not sure I could be bothered doing the membership admin for such a small amount. I'm up for the free idea, but we charge for things like printing newletters, signs, membership cards (gives local discounts) etc.0 -
Ideally it would be the last phase of an online sign up form which would auto add them to the email list. And we'd only have names with emails of paid members.

You can specify what reference a customer puts on the BACS payments, for example get them to put their surname or first part of email addy.
Is there anyone that can provide a grant or has that all been axed now?0 -

You can specify anything you like, but the bank doesn't always pass that fairly vital piece of information on, at least not if it's Santander if another poster's experience is anything to go by!
If it's Santander I'd be amazed if the payment ever reached the intended account at all (and I'm only half joking).0
