Zurich Insurance data loss fear

Hi there,

I recently heard on the radio that Zurich Insurance have been fined a record some from the FSA for loosing 46,000 customers data way back in August 2008. I bought a house in February 2008 and got out home and contents insurance with Zurich. I was wondering if I check with Zurich whether they will divulge if I was one of those 46,000 and if anything can be done about it. I haven't seen any adverse activity I don't think on my accounts since the data loss was discovered, but I am still worried. Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike :(

  • From my understanding it was zurich private clients data that went missing so more the higher end of the scale and Zurich wrote at the time to all of those effected.

The lost data was only for customers of ZPC and ZSR (Zurich Private Clients and Zurich Special Risks, respectively). I believe they wrote to everyone who was affected.
