Wednesday 25th August - What small things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Get OH to pay me rent and money owed for hol
Do comps before work, lunchtime and after work
Email about competition prize if I hear nothing

Doc appointment
Meeting OH to get stuff from Lidl and bring own bags and then order rest from Tesco for delivery Thurs eve
Woman wanting second viewing coming later in the evening

Arrange chilcare for 2 weeks time
Try my dress i bought to wear to a wedding this weekend - hopefully still fits

surveys
Dinner from stores -HM corned beef hash from freezer
Use label maker at work to make labels for DD2's christening book
Arrange what presents to sell on to family members for DD2's birthday
Sort lunchbox for DD2
Fit in some exercise

Horrible weather here and i feel exhausted!! Really could do with a day at home! Nevermind.

Morning all!

Going for it this morning I think!

- Sell purge, 5 opportunities today!!!
- [STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE] Not horrific, have also made a new section to my red book which doubles as a spending diary for groceries and "my" money.
- [STRIKE]Order ecigie refills, saves me £80 a month![/STRIKE] Done, must say I HIGHLY recommend these for any smokers wanting to be MSE about it.
- DM to hang washing around like a chinese laundry (thanks mum!)
- Snacks from home
- Write Mr T's top up list
- Action list at lunch time
- Chimney sweep coming today, hopefully no jackdaws nests so will be £33 instead of £66
- Didn't vacuum yesterday as I'll probably have to do it after sweep today anyway, saves a bit of leccy!
- Boss not in today so will be nice and chilled out!

morning! just be quick as have a crazy busy day at work today...

• hair cut today :j (£10 in the comfort of my own home, and all the flirting I can cope with - without getting into trouble - for free )
• water toms no need torrential rain and met office has issued a severe weatehr warning for kent
• harvest ripe toms

• [STRIKE]swimming with work cost initially but will claim back [/STRIKE]:D as much as I moan about my job there are some parts of it that are fantastic. Its pretty cool to be able to go swimming once a week with the people I work with & see how much they get from it :T I clearly spoke too soon as I felt like crying on the way home (too much work, no staff) & am about to log on and do some now

Tea from stores using another new recipe, adapting slightly to use what I've got rather than buy
Maybe make cake

Round to friends later, free cuppa
DD in reusables
Check m&s sale maybe replenish undies
Start packing for weekend away
Do expenses so I can get boss to sign them when I see her tom
Wizz round using my 'new' swiffer, it's almost like triggs' broom:p

Hi All, my list today

-OH gave me a lump sum of cash so with aid of friend and thier van get the stuff for lining the chimney down side it wont goet done til end of next month as a friend is going to shimmy up the side of the house instead of paying someone far too much to do it! Done and it was much cheaper than we anticipated..shame i cant pocket the rest of the cash!
-defrost meat or fish for tea (havent decided yet)
-visit allotment plot
-chop and freeze more runner bean
-find homes for the 12 courgettes that we cant possibly eat
-disher washer - done
-quick wizz in kitchen - done
-feed friends cats - done
-will collect owner of cats at midnight from the airport
-do some sorting and tidying (really need to get some plastic shelves amd some of those suction storage bags from Focus but thats more money-cant decide whether to spend or not)...i really want my house to be tidy and building work to be finished, i bought the house 6 years ago and there are so many not quite finished jobs grrrr
- mum has just rung, she has found some cheap nice vases in Asda so they will be the table decoration for the wedding - I am going to fill with pink sweets and some will be flowers...yay thats sorted...so just need to make the hundreds of meters of pink bunting!
-ring Virgin media and change to online billing and remove the itemised billing, so that should drop the bill by a few £s every month...every little helps
-really need to find a aerial man to sort ours so i can cancel cable and just use freeview - i will miss my favourite programmes..might not be today but need to do at some point soon

I currently have Animal Plant on TV 'Animal Precinct' they have just took 49 dogs out of a house in NY...some people are so cruel it really upsets me I dont know why i watch programmes like this...and that woman who as a 'joke' put a cat in a wheelie bin...grrrrr.....15hours in it with no food or water grrrrrr

Weather's really nice here but I've decided to stay at my desk over lunch so that I don't spend any money

Think I'm coming down with the cold which is not good... I've got my first half marathon a week on Sunday!!! Cannot get ill...!!!

My list for today: -

• [STRIKE]check on-line banking[/STRIKE] refund received for payment made twice
• check surveys
• breakfast and lunch into work
• go swimming after work so not an NSD for me today
• bolognaise from freezer for tea (per meal planner)

Think that's it for me today, quite a short list... I'll add to it later if I can think of anything else.

checked wage slip - didnt get paid overtime I was expecting so that was not good.
had a chat to OH as he is spending lots here and there cos he is off work at mo. I said he needs to keep a check on it.

Going out for meal with friend - she is paying as I paid last time.
Dreamed about what holiday we would go on when we are debt free
