Gutter cleaning

Hi peeps just wondering when is the best time to have your gutters cleaned and how often?
Do people have someone to have a look to see if they need done or not, i mean how do you know if they need done or not unless water is running over the gutter!
Is there a service where someone will inspect them for you and tell you if they need done or not! and what do they charge for this,
I have not had mine done for over 2 years is this to long dont know what they are like and dont fancy going up a ladder at that height.
anybody got any suggestions
thanks jamesy!

Ask your window cleaner, they will usually have a look and clean them out for you, if needed.0

If the gutters are fitted with the correct fall, they should not need cleaning very often, (If at all).I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

I think it depends on where you house is situated and close proximity to trees
I did mine last year mainly found clay from roof tiles but not enough for problems to occur. I did mine own with a ladder and a small brush pushing the debris to one end and scooped up into hand and bagged0 -
Best time to clean them = when they are blocked.0

Or before Winter when less likely to want to do any work to house0

We usually have ours done once a year in the Spring - our window cleaner does them when ask & charges around £15.0

Window cleaner does ours once the leaves are down off the trees so they don't immediately reblock. Costs £20 but we've got a long run on an L shaped house.Adventure before Dementia!0

ours havent been done in 15 years tho they are overflowing now, 20 quid the going rate? that sounds ok as a ladder would cost that!Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -

If you want to go up there every year for no reason, then thats up to you
If you have a forrest around you then yes, leaves may need cleaning every December. Otherwise most properties never see or need a gutter clean in their life0
