Raising money for JDRF..Can you help?

Options
Hi all,

I’m a married, father of two, working as an accountant for Siemens PLC. In the early part of 2010 my world was turned upside down when my son Alfie, who is now two, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. As a consequence he now needs to have his blood sugar levels monitored four times a day, insulin injections four times a day and he has to maintain a stable diet.

During the days following diagnosis the help and support we received, as a family, was fantastic. The local diabetes specialist team were marvellous as were the JDRF via the information and tools they provided.

The JDRF are currently making huge investments into finding ways to create an artificial pancreas which would vastly improve the quality of life for thousands of Diabetes type 1 sufferers and I hope to support them by assisting them with some sort of contribution.

At a time when many companies are taking their Corporate Social Responsibility more seriously I have decided to hold a Charity Auction/Entertainment evening and I’m looking for your help. The evening will consist of an Auction, Live entertainment, a buffet and a fundraising raffle all with the aim of raising as much for the Charity as possible.

So how can you help? Anything you can donate for the Charity auction/raffle would be very much appreciated, whether it be vouchers, products, event tickets, signed photos or memorabilia of some sort.

If you would like to help me in supporting a very worthy cause please contact me via lee.diabetesfundraising@googlemail.com

The event will take place on 2nd July 2011 at the home of Walsall FC, The Banks’ Stadium where I will make every effort to recognise the sponsors and contributors. I will also be contacting the Press to do likewise unless there is an expression of desire to retain anonymity.

Yours sincerely,

Lee
